Programming Centre

The Programming Centre serving the Nordic market is located in Nedre Vats, Norway. We have been programming devices here for our Nordic customers since 1998.

Using the latest high technology programmers, we are able to offer our customers fast precision programming of programmable devices, laser marking and delivery on Tape and Reel.

Laser marking and delivery on Tape and Reel

• We use fully automated systems from BPM Microsystems www.bpmmicro.com
• The BP-4600, BP-4500, BP-4100 and BP-3500 handle devices in and out - in trays, tape or tubes and in almost any packages. The systems also provide laser marking or label marking on most IC sizes
• Small quantities, and DIP packages, are programmed using a manual programmer, the BP-2610
• Manually programmed devices are marked with a high temperature (-40°C to +260°C) ESD safe Kapton label
• Arrow's Nordic Programming Centre has a wide range of socket modules in-house. The packages supported today include: PLCC, BGA, microBGA, TSSOP, MLF, QFN, QFP, TQFP...
• Our programmers support more than 25,000 devices from more than 150 semiconductor manufacturers worldwide

Our quality is your safety!

• The Programming Centre is a part of Arrow Nordic Components AB which is certified according to ISO 9001
• Certification according to 61340-5-1 confirms the Programming Centre's ESD protection
• Moisture sensitive devices are dry-packed immediately after programming in ESD and moisture-shielded bags received from the manufacturer
• Devices that are not moisture sensitive are packed in ESD shielding bags

Samples for approval

Having received the devices, the program and the programming details, the centre programs a limited series of devices according to the given program details. The customer receives between two and five programmed devices for testing purposes. After approval of these devices, the programming order is performed. For add-on orders with new versions of the program, the same procedure applies. A sheet containing all programming information on the job is sent to the customer. When samples have been tested ok, the customer acknowledges approval by returning this sheet with his signature.

For orders below €400 and for add-on orders with identical programs, samples are not supplied.

Urgent orders

If a customer has an urgent need for programmed devices, customer acceptance of liability is required for orders exceeding €400.

In this case, the complete programming order is performed without prior sample acceptance.

Programming information

As well as the customer program, the centre needs some additional information, which can be submitted on a sheet available from Arrow. Customers can use their own documentation if preferred.

Tape and Reel

Arrow offers taping as an add-on to programming and as a stand-alone service. We have stock of carrier tape for many active components, but can also Tape and Reel some passive components. We Tape and Reel whatever quantity you need per reel and per order. You can contact the Arrow Nordic Programming Centre directly or via your local contact in the Arrow sales office; we will then prepare a quote for you.

Our main supplier for all Tape and Reel materials is Advantek.
